Hello. I’ve been having breathing issues for the past 2/3 winters. It has been quite severe when I’ve had them - I could barely breathe and would have wheezing.
I booked an appointment for a spirometry and was seen by a healthcare assistant who says I have both COPD and Asthma.
I’m quite shocked by this. I’m only 28. I have never smoked nor has anyone in my family. I haven’t been around fires etc and COPD does not run in my family.
The healthcare assistant said if I didn’t give good blows she would have asked me to repeat it but because I did, she says I have COPD and Asthma. And that the COPD is on the moderate to severe level...
Now I’m wondering is there anyway this could be wrong. Could I still have given good blows but let out oxygen before the blow. I also have anxiety, so could that have played a part in how I administered the test.
I’m just in panic mode so if anyone could input that would be great
