The COPD Foundation's Access Consortium is dedicated to ensuring that people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and related lung conditions, as well as those at risk, their care partners, and health care providers, have access to the highest quality care possible.
We are committed to a highly proactive, focused approach to ensure patients and caregivers can access effective treatments (including keeping costs down), understand how to use those treatments, and engage with health care professionals to obtain them.
Our approach includes:
- Evidence-based prevention methods
- Timely evaluation of symptoms and diagnosis
- The most appropriate treatments to help them reach their health goals
The Access Consortium is a strategic platform to inform this work and contribute to advocacy that engages our communities in achieving the best results.

- Inclusion of patient-relevant outcomes in the development of new treatments
Our Potential Initiatives:
- Develop and execute advocacy strategies for federal and state legislative and administrative policies
- Engagement with value assessment activities
- Engagement with public and private health plan advocacy
- Execute qualitative and quantitative data research on patient perspectives
- Utilize various media strategies to amplify and expand the reach of programming in the policy domain
- Align with similar patient advocacy organizations to amplify our voices
