My brother has been diagnosed with mild copd. I was just curious if there is any funding for surgery or a lung transplant since he was a former smoker or if there is some other funding or compensation available for the comfort of patients?

It may never progress. He should have lung function evaluated and stop smoking. Also important to exercise, have propper diet, get vaccinations!
