My father was just diagnosed with COPD. His GP gave him some medications to try (Spiriva Respimat). As of now his symptoms are pretty mild (he says there are no problems, but I definitely hear wheezing when he does anything to get his heart going), so I'm wondering how we can gauge how effective the drug is?
I have looked at possibly purchasing a spirometer, or pulse oximeter, to measure but am not sure if that is the best way to go about it?
Any advice is very welcome.
