Hey everyone, I'm 39, ex smoker with a 10 year pack history, quit 6 years ago, current military, so I had a viral infection (highly likely COVID) went to hospital as I couldn't breathe, this had been going on 6 weeks by this point. Ended up having a CT scan and all the discharge letter states is no pulmonary embolism, emphysematous changes. So literally was told by the nurse that I had emphysema scarring. I have a spirometry booked in for tomorrow, my peak flow is 550 on average, I can run 2 miles still although it flares up the post viral inflammation, so I'm just sticking to walking at the moment. As you can imagine this has taken me back somewhat and has caused many sleepless nights. But reading the various posts here has been helpful. Any top tips for someone at the beginning of this?
