I was diagnosed with severe emphysema at 33 years old, after years of struggling to breath and coughing that was diagnosed as asthma because I was "too young" for it to be anything else.
I've been told I will eventually need a double lung transplant, but at the moment my body can compensate well enough to be able to wait a few years.
Anyone else my age experiencing this, or was diagnosed around my age? If so, how did you cope?
