Hi. I have been a smoker for the past 5 years. On average, I smoked around 8-10 cigarettes a day. I decided to quit smoking on December 31, 2020 due to smoker issues like mild pain in the chest, shortness of breath (sometimes) and poor teeth/ gum health. After quitting smoking, I had a feeling that my chest was full of mucus and I was having blunt pain (more of a strain) in my upper/central back, shoulders, upper chest and collar muscles. I though that these conditions are due to the nicotine cravings. After around 1 month, the symptoms other than excess mucus in throat went away. In the beginning of March, I again felt little shortness of breath and post nasal drip. I decided to go to a doctor where I was informed that maybe I have COPD. Due to the covid19, spirometry was not performed. I myself purchased a Peak flow meter. I am getting a reading between 550-600 l/min, even though I feel shortness of breath and some pain in my collar muscles. Do I really have COPD at young age of 27? I have no cough, and even though I am little fat (BMI-24.9), I can use stair upto 14 floors. I am really worried about this and the lack of spirometry makes me depressed.
