Hi there! Every time I do my peak flow- which is with a device that has a circular mouth piece to exhale through- there is a very horse, loud and painful feeling in my trachea. I sound like like one big cough but I’m not coughing I’m just doing an exhale. It feels like my inside of my trachea is being ripped up. So, what is this? Whenever I do pulmonary function tests in the office this doesn’t happen. The circle which I breathe out through is slightly smaller. And I have another peak flow meter that is more of a rectangular shaped mouth piece and this doesn’t happen either.
My doctor said he doesn’t understand it.
I also have lower readings with the circle peak flow meter.
im worried i may I scar tissue built up in my trachea and the wider circle causes the air to pass by it more- thus making the pain and noise.
Thanks for your help.
