My father(age 63)has severe COPD.He was last admitted to hospital in 2019 diagnosed with pneumonia and was under ventilation for 14 days.The doctors said he had more than 95% lung damage.
For the past few days he had a cough for which I gave him Ceftum 500(for 7 days) and Montek LC(for 10days).It did not help.It rained 2days ago.All the windows were closed.Now his chest is congested and he is coughing all the time without coughing up phlegm.
He has pain in and around lungs from coughing.
I have increased Lumenac(expectorant) to three times a day,and
Omnacortil 30(prednilone) for past 3days.
I have started Moxif since yesterday.
Today in the morning his oxygen levels dropped dangerously low under 60 and pulse rate above 130.
After 1 hour he is stable but still not fully recovered with oxygen close to 80 but dropping occasionally and pulse rate 110-120.
He has acess to 24 hour oxygen and a Bipap at home.
Please advise me a course of action by which I can nurse him back to health at home.
I live in India and due to current pandemic no hospital is safe for him.
