Aorta: Unremarkable. No aortic aneurysm. No aortic dissection.
Trachea: Major airways are patent.
Lungs: No consolidation. Mild paraseptal emphysema in the apices.
Pleural spaces: Unremarkable. No pneumothorax. No pleural effusion.
Heart: Heart size is normal. No pericardial effusion.
Coronary arteries: No coronary artery calcification.
Lymph nodes: Unremarkable. No enlarged lymph nodes.
Gallbladder and biliary ducts: Cholecystectomy•
Bones/ joints: 5 mm sclerotic round focus in the T8
vertebral body, likely a
bone island.
Soft tissues: Unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:
No acute findings. No evidence of pulmonary emboli, aneurysm or dissection.
Mild paraseptal emphysema.
Comments:
The presence of pulmonary emphysema on CT is an independent risk factor for lung cancer.
In the absence of a history or active diagnosis of lung cancel,
it is recomended that this patient with emphysema be
evaluated
for enrollment in a low dose CT lung cancer screening program.
