Last Sat. on the morning news they said Berne Sanders will be a Bonanza high school to speak at 12:30. It was about about 9:00am and my wife asked if I was up to going. I knew it would be a lot of walking from parking to get in but then the pace could slow down for me. We went 7 or 8 years ago when Obama came to town for a rally, the same place only his was outside on the football field and Berne's wasn't. There was a massive line but once I made it from parking to it I would be ok. It was a slow steady walk. I kept saying we are just barely going to make it. We're still in line by his bus up by the front doors of the school. A big ball-headed dude with an American flag shirt on came out and said the Fire Marshall had shut us down, full to capacity, go home, you can not see the OZ, great and powerful. No, only kidding he said: Berne knows you all can't get in so he is coming out to speak to you for a little bit. Gather around up here. Hands out of your pockets, women open your purses. While we were waiting for Berne to come out a swarm of Secret Service agents came out with metal detector wands and gave us all the once over, except for me, of course. You, over here, take it off, but sir I need it to, don't ask questions, do it, NOW! I take my POC off. He unzips the bottom where the battery is installed and says ok, your clear. About 10 seconds later another agent is on me. What's that for? What's in that zipper compartment? Good, clear. Here's number 3 eye balling me, I knew it, here he comes. What's that he says, I say: ask him pointing to the agent that just left me and was standing just to my left. I could tell that made him mad but just then Berne came out the side door surrounded by more of them. He spoke to about 200 of us, the ones that didn't get in for about 10 minutes and then went back inside to continue. As he was walking back in the crowd started to shift and I was right there in his path. I was swept aside by the agents but as Berne passed me he was looking at my cannula and gave me the 2 thumbs up sign.
