Hi All, I'm new to the group. I'm 37 and I am in the process of being diagnosed with COPD, Asthma or both. I have had lung issues for the past 15 years. I smoked for about ten years, a pack a week at the most (in college and a few years after). I am pretty active. I have two young children, work part-time, and I have my 200 hour yoga certification. My issues are that I go from feeling perfectly healthy to horrible ill. I have bronchitis like symptoms about every three months and respond very well to steroids which I take two or three times a year. I have made frequent trips to the ER for the steroids because my GP always tells me I have a virus and just need to rest and hydrate. I have had pneumonia twice, about 6 years ago and about two years ago. My test results: FEv1/FVC 67%, FEV1 92%, FEF 25-75% was 47%. The pulmonologist suspected asthma but my methacholine challenge test was negative. My CT scan was normal and showed no active disease. They found TB in my sputum culture but they said it was contaminated because my CT scan would've showed active disease. Any input is appreciated. I'm waiting on the results on the Alpha Deficiency test.
