This article details the work of Danish researchers examining the relationship between post-discharge home video consultations with a nurse and COPD patient risk of readmission. Patients were assigned to intervention or control groups. The authors report a preventive effect of the video consultation intervention. Interestingly, the majority of participants indicated they preferred the video support as compared to telephone follow-up and would recommend that it become standard of care.
