Dispensing inhalers to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on hospital discharge: Effects on prescription filling and readmission

This study demonstrated the impact of a hospital pharmacy program in which multidose inhalers were provided to COPD patients upon discharge. The authors report improved medication adherence and statistically significant reductions in both 30- and 60-day hospital programs associated with their intervention.
