Around 2 months ago one of my home care residents in his home gave me his nasal cannula( Prongs) and asked me to put it on his bed as he was going to bed.I took it and when i reached the bedroom i dropped it on the floor.( I am not if the nasal prongs touched the floor or not) but as soon as i saw it down i put it up and keep it next to his pillow as per his instructions. I feel guilty now as i came to know we should clean the nasal cannula if it drops on the floor..I feel bad because recently because of his copd he could not breath and was admitted to hospital for a week and came back home with pneumina.Right now he is doing ok. But I feel bad that I must have given him some bacteria too. Plz help what can I do to feel better?
