I have COPD at night I sleep sitting up in bed I am afraid to lie down because I aspirate. Why am I suffocating on my own mucous at night, why does it build up so much in my lungs and pool basically choking me? Is there anything I can do to reduce the mucous buildup because thus far all the decongestants prescribed have not worked and I am afraid at 45 I will die in my sleep what do I do someone please help me.
