I had a chest X-ray do determine the "noise" on my pacemaker and the radiologist wrote that, among other issues, I have "changes of emphysematous COPD. Pulmonary infiltrates or pleural effusions are present." My Internist has requested a pulmonary function test. I have never smoked in my life, and I am totally new to COPD. Do you think the radiologist made some sort of mistake? Could something else look like emphysematous COPD? It has been two weeks and so far my test has not been schedule! I am 76 years old and up to now my complaints about shortness of breath while walking, tight pressure in my chest, talking to my husband loudly for a long time (he has hearing difficulties) has been blamed on my heart issues... Could someone give me some ideas? I would be grateful. Thank you.
