I am brand new to ALL of this and was prescribed an Omron CompAir Compressor Nebulizer for use with Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution, 0.083%, all of which I brought home from the hospital 2 days ago. I found this website forum and read the earlier thread about portable nebulizers and this sounds like something that would be valuable for me as I travel a fair amount for work and would prefer to have something that I can use on the go, in addition to this plug-in one.
My questions:
1. YOUR opinions on and/or experiences with a portable mesh nebulizer. What brand and model do you like? Any that you have tried that you were unhappy or not impressed with?
2. Do most pharmacies carry them and can I get one quickly and easily with my doctor's prescription? I am leaving for a 10-12 day trip in a little over a week, so time is of the essence for me.
3. In your experience, if I already have the plug-in variety, will Medicare or my Advantage Plan also cover a portable? Or should I plan to pay cash?
4. Anything else at all that you think would be useful for me to know or be aware of.
I understand that any replies will be your thoughts and opinions of your own experience(s) and may or may not be applicable to me or my situation. I am just seeking some beginner guidance from those more experienced and knowledgeable than I am.
Thanks so very much for any advice, thoughts, and opinions you wish to share.
