This is new to me and I’m now quite sure how to communicate properly on here yet. I do have a question. I am on 2 liters of oxygen via nasal cannula. I have Alpha-1 so I’m in a pretty bad state now. I don’t use the O2 24/7 yet, but I use it during the day as needed. I sleep with it on all night though. My nose is getting incredibly irritated, itchy, and will bleed from me scratching and rubbing at it. I’ve tried the saline spray but that’s a very temporary solution to what’s a long term problem. It lasts for like 10 minutes then dries up. I know I CANNOT USE ANY PETROLEUM BASED STUFF in or around my nose. I did ask my pharmacist if she had anything I could use. Not much of a selection because it’s not a CVS or Walgreens big chain pharmacy. She did have a water based lotion called CeraVe. I’ll see if it will allow me to put a pic on here at the end. 12oz of this stuff was $13.23. I’m on permanent SS/Disability and I really have to watch my pennies. I bought it anyway because the itch is annoying and it’s painful too. I was wondering does anyone have any advice other than a small humidifier in my room?? I can’t have it humid at all, it makes my breathing worse. Any water based lotions or anything else you can suggest would be greatly appreciated. I know I still have to be careful because Aveeno lotion is water based but if you continue to read ALL ingredients there is petroleum in it too. I thank anyone in advance for any suggestions you may have. If I don’t respond to the thread please private message me so I can at least make sure I can see your responses and give a more personal thank you 😊. I’m sure the more I use this site the better I’ll get. Wishing you all a wonderful day Gee
