I had a pulmonary function test (PFT) this morning as a double check of a recent in-office spirometery test using a handheld device that surprisingly cleared me of having COPD (I went from FEV1 and FV1/FVC in the high 70 percent range on my original PFT to 86% for my FEV1 and 99% for my FEV1/FVC on the recent in-office spirometery). The person administering my PFT this morning told me that they’d do three different steps, and then if they need to they’d give me a nebulizer treatment and repeat the steps a second time. Well she wound up doing exactly that. I’m now waiting on my results, but was wondering: does this imply that there was some type of obstruction found, or could there be a reason that they performed the second phase and my test results might still come out normal? Trying to read between the lines I guess with the only info I have right now... :)
