Has anyone here ever been told by their Pulmo not to have any surgery other than a significant emerg

I have some kidney stones that are too large to pass and need to be blasted but my Pulmo has warned me not to have it done unless it is critical as my lungs may not allow me to recover from being "put under". Has anybody else experienced this?
