I am extremely glad to have been admitted into team of resilient pulmonary disease advocates with the COPD Foundation. As a former Emergency Medical Technician, now a Pharmaceutical Technologist and a career Procurement practitioner, I do appreciate the enormous help we would offer the world through disease awareness creation, education on pulmonary disease conditions and advocacy.
Quite a good number of times I have shared with asthmatics and COPD patients, relatives, friends and fellow healthcare workers, have not only encouraged me in this passion, but have brought chances of access to early diagnosis and coordination of healthcare for asthmatics and COPD patients in Ghana as an administrator of Asthma Ghana, a patient support platform of about 400 members across the country.
The greatest relief given to patients I come across in my work as a pulmonary disease advocate and educator is the assurance that there is a community out there seeking for research opportunities to better the lots of asthmatics and COPD patients in the areas of innovative pharmaceutical care, advances in clinical management for a healthy quality of life full of accessible rights to cleaner air environment.
Hopefully, when all efforts by advocates across the globe are consolidated into a definite taken action, we can achieve the best for all COPD patients across the globe.
