I saw a chiropractor for help in overcoming sciatic nerve pain. He did a manipulation that caused me to call out in intense pain. I don't know what a broken rib feels like, but this felt like it could be. Awful pain to take a breath, even worse for a deep breath. A yawn sent me over the top, but I found myself in tears after a sneeze.
I had just had a nuclear stress test with good results, so it wasn't my heart. Chest xrays ruled out broken rib. Diagnosis of costocondritis and told to use ibuprofen and rest. No one was concerned, it'll go away in time.
This is a week later, and I am so sob that I have not been out of the house, much less the Y, which I had been doing every day.
I feel like I've lost everything I've worked for in the last 6 months. Has anyone recovered from this, and how long did it take?
