Hi everyone, I am a new member in this community. After some visits to my pulmonologist and a clear ct-scan I haven't received any diagnosis but my former smoker history and my current symptoms coincide, as a member of this community pointed to me, with some kind of bronchiectasies related problems. Here's my story. I am 39 years old and have been a heavy smoker since I was 19. A lot of cigarettes but, wich is worse, a lot of toxic aspiration due tony joints addiction. I quit smoking over a year ago from now but I have related problems with mucus clearance. I build mucus and I'm unable to expel it out without difficulties. My cough is completely ineffective clearing the mucus in my throat and bronchi and my condition haven't improved since I quitted smoking. All of this makes me feel very stressed and frustrated and concerned about the future and a possible disability through some years from now. I am being proactive, I do 45 min of cycling per day and some days ago I purchased a flutter and I have been searching methods like the huff coughing to expel mucus. This is my current symptomatology, it isn't invalidating but I am concerned about the prognosis of this. What should I expect? Will this worsen over time or it can remain with only mild symptoms? I would appreciate some advice as well as your own experiences dealing with bronchiectasis. Thanks in advance!
