What does it mean when you get better airflow and easier breathing when you lay on your stomach to read a book, supported by your elbows? Lately I’ve been finding that it’s harder to breathe when I’m sitting up in bed. What, if anything, does this mean? My last CT found minimal centrilobular emphysema. My spirometry and diffusing capacity were normal on both of my PFTs. Residual volume is technically normal at 119% - but is close to the upper limit (120%) for "air trapping.” I also have ground glass nodules. I’ve been having a little bit of breathlessness on our 4 mile evening walks, so I have another PFT coming up in about a month to see if anything has changed.
