Hi, I’ve got a question for the doctor or anyone who can help, I was diagnosed with early stage emphysema and mild asthma at age 30 with a spirometery test that said I had 87% lung function, I quit smoking as I only smoke maybe half a pack a day for 15 years I’m 39 now and I had another spirometery test done 2 months ago and everything was in range of someone my age at my height with a 110% lung function, I don’t know what to make of this is it possible it could have been a misdiagnosis? If not is it possible the progression can be stopped, I asked my pulmonary doctor if we should do another CT scan to see if there was any progression in the emphysema and she said if I quit smoking there should be no progression but of course I go down these rabbit holes online and that seems to not be the case. My family doctor said I should have a normal life expectancy if I don’t smoke anymore and CT scans weren’t always the best way to test for emphysema. Any input is
