I began the Trelegy inhaler a week ago. I really clean out my mouth afterwards. But that does not get into the breathing area by the larynx. I have reactive airway affecting the larynx (damage from concrete dust when laying tile many years ago, I believe) with coughing triggered by perfume and other things, mostly stuff I can walk away from. And the larynx get sore here and there from coughing and triggers. The inhaler powder seems to irritate that a bit. I wonder if anyone has any experience with something similar? You cannot wash that area clean. I see my pulmo doctor in 2 days for follow-up to starting this.
Because a couple of months before this, my larynx started with some larengytis here and there, not frequent, but now more frequent when I talk a while. I saw my ENT yesterday. She put a camera down my nose to take a look. She says all looks well. If still a problem, in a few weeks I could see their speech therapist. But now my concern is the inhaler powder keeping this going and being an irritant. I also asked if the constant irritation could lead to throat cancer and she said no. She stressed anyone smoking, that could. But not irritation. If I finally move to PA, I'll get second opinions all around.
