I am 39 year old male with being diagnosed with asthma. I'm a firefighter and have been for 19 years. I'm very perplexed, I've been told I have asthma, yet my albuterol never ever works. I have good days, and bad days, my 02 stats don't drop on my bad days. I've smoked one pack around every 2-3 months over the last 15 years. Two years ago I get diagnosed with asthma, and for the first time I failed my PFT test with a LEV, pre 78, post 82. Finally week later I passed at 94. Then failed again three months later. My appointment with pulmonary dr in three weeks my allergist referred me. My vo2max is excellent yet I can have sob for days but still exercise at a high rate. My sob is really all day and exercising helps better then any meds. What I need are some real good questions to ask my specialist so any help would be great. If it is COPD I want to catch it early and try my best to have a decent life with my wife and kids until the end stage. Thank
