This means I cough a lot, sometimes hundreds of times a day, and quite forcefully (I’ve measured the noise level at up to 104 decibels before using a cell phone app! I hope I’m not damaging anyone’s hearing). I know I’m not coughing because I’m sick, but I still like to cover my cough, both to avoid appearing rude (others don’t always know, and even if they do it still may seem gross to them if I don’t cover) and also to avoid spraying anyone with any germs that might still be present. The problem is that the most hygienic options such as coughing into my elbow or even worse my shoulder are bad for my neck when coughing that hard that often (I suffer from chronic migraines and neck tension is one of my triggers), while the best options for my neck (coughing into my hand) means I have to stop and wash my hands frequently, or again that I have to simply not cover my mouth. How do you handle this problem with your chronic cough
