I’ve been around 2nd hand smoke most my adult life & lived in a very dusty/desert/windy area (toxic air). Developed a bad lung infection 7 years ago, took meds, got better. Then I got COVID, bad, really affected my breathing. I got better with time, but never the same. As a singer, it became apparent there was lung damage, couldn’t get enough air to sing as before. All of a sudden, my breathing became worse a few weeks ago… diagnosed with COPD, shocked to say the least. Now on antibiotics & Steroids. I’m reading all I can on the COPD subject. Taking L-carnosine & Vitamin D’s for lung health, eating healthy diet, lots of exercise, etc. Here’s my BIG concern & what I’d appreciate any feedback on. I teach aqua aerobics in a chlorinated pool & I now live at an altitude of 7000 ft. Is this damaging my lungs more by breathing in chlorine & living at high altitude? I can’t imagine having to move or quit teaching, It's my life, passion.
