3 weeks ago my doc gave me the walk around tour and my sats dropped to 85.
I had just gotten out of the hospital and the VA had already delivered an oxygen concentrator and 8 cylinders of O2. No instructions from hospital when released as to how often to use.
After the walk around the Pulmonologist said use it all the time and he would do a follow up in three weeks. I have used it for the most part as directed. I also bought an Inogen 1 as I’m very self conscious about pulling a bottle behind me
NOW when I get frustrated I disconnect and walk outside to get the mail or walk slowly into a store to make a purchase. I’ve also kept up with my treadmill workouts 3X a week with oxygen making sure to watch my saturation numbers. Normally I have the concentrator on #2 and increase it to 2 1/2 when on the treadmill
QUESTION: lately I have done some self testing by walking around the house and doing normal household chores without O2 and it seems that my numbers have gotten much better . Cooking dinner, walking throughout the house and outside and have not seen numbers under 90. If I concentrate on my plb I can usually maintain 92-94%
Has the use of oxygen account for the better feeling and numbers I’m realizing. I haven’t given up on using oxygen until and if I’m told it’s ok to alter the time.
Is this possible that the use of oxygen contributed to the better numbers???
