Collin Scarborough, Foundation Board Member and Friend, Passed Away

June 08, 2011

It is with sadness and respect that we inform you our fellow board member, Collin Scarborough, passed away this morning at his home in Hilton Head, SC after a battle with cancer and renal failure. Collin was responsible for the creation of the Richard H. Scarborough Bronchiectasis Research Consortium and Registry and his family donated the initial funds to support this important initiative. We will always remember Collin as a very passionate advocate brought on by his brother Richard's devastating experience with bronchiectasis.

He was a friend who cared about others more than himself, and, right up until the end, was dedicated and determined to carry on the legacy of his brother to find a cure for bronchiectasis.

For the COPD Foundation, it will be Collin's driving force behind the creation of the Richard H. Scarborough Fund in support of bronchiectasis research that will remain his legacy. Please know that the COPDF is committed to honoring his legacy through our continued pursuit in finding a cure for bronchiectasis.

The individual(s) that donate will also receive a letter from the COPD Foundation acknowledging receipt of their support.
