As a respiratory therapist, and State Captain for Louisiana, I hope to accomplish bringing COPD awareness to individuals at every learning stage. Also, I want to give hope to those who are living with the condition.
As a COPD advocate, I have participated in health fairs or community events to promote COPD awareness.
As a State Captain, I am interested in connecting others in the COPD community to the resources available so they can live healthier, fuller lives, and raising awareness by participating in health fairs and community events. I would also like to work with state, local, and national officials to improve COPD policy.
My proudest COPD moment was when as COPD State Captain I would educate individuals about COPD and I would get some great reactions. People really want to know more about how COPD impacts their lives and what they can do to be proactive in their health.
My inspiration to share is, “Every opportunity is an opportunity for greatness!”
More about me: I don't have COPD, but I've been an RRT for 12 years. I have two advanced degrees, one is a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and the other is a Master’s of Respiratory Care. I'm currently an assistant professor, and I have my own pulmonary consulting business.
