I was told by two specialists recently (pulmonologist during last hospital visit and allergy/asthma doctor a couple of days ago) that I most likely do not have COPD at all. Both said it is more likely very poorly controlled allergic asthma that can be made much better through proper allergy control. Allergy/asthma doctor had me do a PFT and his opinion did not show COPD, but lower airway inflammation do to allergies. He said that is why I have been having so many problems in the last 1 1/2 to 2 years. I have 2 blood tests within last 2 years that showed both a very high IgE level and very high allergen levels to EVERYTHING. So, I am to now get more current allergy test done in 10 days and begin allergy shot treatment again. I did have this done 30 years ago and it did help tremendously at the time. Does this make possible sense to anyone?
