I finally got to see my doctor this morning to discuss my breathing problems and lung tests. Ever since i had trouble breathing, which flared up on august 20th, i had been seeing the nirse practitioner only. My breathing has been improving everyday! I quit smoking october 6th and will never go back. I posted my lung function results from oct 31st on here and as you guys know..it stated "mild copd and mild hyperinflation". So i asked my doc why my sypmtoms had been so bad if only mild copd present. He said the combination of the copd, my pre existing asthma, and my smoking caused my severe symptoms. I asked him when i can expect the copd to get worse and he said as long as i never smoke again, its never going to get worse. He said i will never be on oxygen. He said i may still have a flare up from time to time, but it's not gonna get worse. This was great to hear but im wondering if its true. Does anyone on here know if mild copd stays mild for life with smoking cessation? Thanks and i hope you are all doing good! 🤗
