last month I was hospitalized with an terrible episode. The VA gave me meds and sent me home. Two days later I went to a different VA clinic and they had me admitted to a local hospital. Two days later I’m released and sent home. Two days after that I’m laying on the floor calling 911.
Their food could be equivalent to a 5 star hotel but no one communicated with one another.
The gave me a nebulizer treatment every 4 to 6 hours. Lots of meds and I was released and felt much better.
My personal VA doctor says use the Salter Aire nebulizer provided by the VA at least 3 times a day.
NOW I just saw the Pulmonologist at the VA hospital in Gainesville Florida and he says only use the nebulizer treatment as needed. What the hell does that mean.
I’m 72 years old and quit smoking 4 years ago. I was doing mild free weight exercises and 20 minutes on the treadmill 3X a week. No O2.
The hospital suggested oxygen at level two. The guy was in and out of my house as if it was on fire. He left me with 7 cylinders and one oxygen concentrator that is blue in color and the size of carry on luggage. It also came with 50 feet of tubing. I have not used it outside the house. Instead I bought an Inogen concentrator but still haven’t been seen in public.
Today’s Doctor says I should use it every day except for watching tv or moving to another room.
He also said that “Wind Sprints” can be a great help. Do I take the bottle and run down my block or go in 50 foot circles.
My guess I would do these on my treadmill.
Any ideas? My O2 sitting is about 92 to 94. The walk the hall test dropped it to 84. Thanks to
