After a few weeks on the job he began feeling dizzy and developed feelings of shortness of breath. Being dizzy quickly went away and shortness of breath persisted. He’s explained to me it’s like he can’t get a deep breath but feels like he needs to take deep breaths all the time. Since then he’s developed severe back and neck pain as well as tenderness in the abdomen. His chief complaint is not being able to take a deep breath. We’ve been to so many Drs including cardiology, pulmonologist, GI, neurosurgeon, and general surgeon and all of them keep saying nothing is wrong. He’s also had tons of scans including CT, xray of the chest and back, and MRI of the neck and back. He’s 24. Our primary care dr has been great about making referrals but his next plan of care is to treat him for possible reflux or anxiety. We’re very discouraged. Any advice or related experience would be helpful.
