A noted pulmonologist here in Atlanta diagnosed me with Moderate Persistent Adult Onset Asthma. I’m on Symbicort and Singulair currently, and things have improved a lot in the last 60 days. However, I’m still producing a lot of thick, sticky phlegm (either clear or white-ish), but my cough is now gone. So I have to “huff” this stuff up routinely (drives my wonderful spouse crazy). Lung function tests have improved greatly in 60-days (essentially normal now for my age) and I’ve had two X-rays that were deemed clear by radiologists. I’m feeling more like myself and am active and functioning well. But the phlegm is weighing me down and still affecting my life. My voice is a bit hoarse from all the “huffing”. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
