I am a friend of someone who is trying to find her any help/support at all in regards to her situation. Since she was 3 she's been a diabetic. She was never a healthy child. She has some type of an immune problem, which she takes meds for and she was diagnosed with COPD four years ago. She kept telling the doctors something was wrong and nobonw listened until the damage was done. She never smoked but worked in poultry houses around many chemicals including ammonia. She is now at a place where every test imaginable has been run. Her heart is good. Her last appointment to the hospital was for quickly gaining weight in her tummy after three days and not feeling right. Her legs looked larger as well. The docs at our local hospital said thwy couldn't see what was causing that issue and said she was just fat. She went to UVA across our mountain to find out she is now breathing at 30 percent. The Prednisone is no longer helping. Her anxiety is going up because she is scared. The docs said they want her to start palliative care to keep her comfortable. Please if anyone has any suggestions, send them here. She has exhausted all meds and all options. She wanted to drive to John Hopkins but they won't take her Medicaid and Medicare since she lives here in Virginia. Please help!!!!
