I have a VA PCP. Last summer I was hospitalized on two back to back visits. All within one week. I was prescribed oxygen therapy 24/7. I was diagnosed 5 years ago and given rescue inhaler (Proair) and Symbicort once a day. Also Spiriva once a day. Recently my doc sent me a nebulizer to be used as needed. the VA also delivered a big blue O2 concentrator and a large tank of liquid oxygen to fill the portable travel tank. My fear is driving 1200 miles alone except for my dog who is great company. I’m worried about getting sick away from home. I would be staying at an Airbnb near my Son and I did live there most of my life. I also have a network of friends and family once I get there. I have very little mucus and haven’t coughed since quitting smoking four years ago. I also bought to Inogen concentrators. The 4 series (levels 1-3) and a 3 series that goes to 5. I was prescribed 3 liters but I can do with level 2-2 1/2 and still maintain 96-98 spo2. Just turned 73 a few days ago. Not overweight and try to stay close to the treadmill. Special note: I keep a Z pack on hand and there are countries where certain meds don’t need a script. I bought 5 milligram tablets 100 count. I don’t dare tell my doc. I don’t even know the proper dosage. I also can take the blue concentrator with me. It only weighs about 30 pounds and fits in the trunk. As you might have understood I’m trying to be prepared as possible. I have a new car. Onstar and AAA. I used to drive straight through without stopping. Now I will stop and rest one night.
