My last 6 minute walk test left me confused. The respiratory therapist periodically told me to slow down. I didn’t understand why, and he wouldn’t explain why. I thought the test should accurately reflect what actually happens when you exert, not what happens when you just stroll. What am I missing? As I have a failing hip joint, and the other one is already replaced, my aerobic exercise is limited to swimming. I am decently strong, can swim half a mile at a session. Used to swim a mile years back. I thought they wanted to see real-Life exertion, but it didn’t seem so at all, with him telling me to slow it down several times. I ended up not desaturating for insurance qualification, which is a good thing. But the test didn’t measure my real life function. Maybe someone can explain
