I was diagnosed in about 1999/2000 with COPD. My main problem is trying to exhale the air from my lungs. I have never had coughing, wheezing, upper respiratory illness or mucus production. Because of other physical disabilities, I am in a wheelchair. But just wheeling myself into another room can cause me to be short of breath. Inhalers have never helped. Could I have been misdiagnosed? I also have the auto-immune disease Scleroderma which can cause lung symptoms but the docs say this isn't the reason for my COPD or lung disease. Any thoughts on what it could be besides classic COPD? Thanks so much.
