Spending time on COPD360Social can be a lot of fun. Connecting with people across the country, learning some of Debbie’s yummy recipes, and catching a glimpse of a cute puppy on Fluffy Friday can bring a smile to anyone’s face. But did you know that chatting with people on COPD360Social and going to community events can also make you feel better?
COPD360Social is a social platform run by the COPD Foundation. It helps people with COPD learn and feel supported.1 When people with COPD get support, they usually have fewer symptoms.2 Here on COPD360Social, people can ask questions and get advice they might not find elsewhere. Support like this helps people manage their lung condition and take their medicine correctly.2
Community events are good for support! Some groups meet in person so people can learn how to take care of their lung condition and make friends. The COPD Foundation also has online meetings each month!
- The COPD360 Support Group and Harmonica Play-Along will meet the first Wednesday of each month at 4 pm EST. Each month, we talk about a certain topic related to lung health. In August, our topic is “Living with a Chronic Lung Condition: coping with a COPD diagnosis; and tips for managing stress and anxiety.” After our discussion, warm up your lungs with a song on the harmonica! Register here to join us.
- On the second Wednesday of each month, our friends at the Bronchiectasis and NTM Association host a Coffee Break! These groups happen at 3 PM EST and let people ask questions of experts in the field. Register here.
- COPD Foundation OxyTalk meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 4 pm EST. If you wear oxygen, love someone who wears oxygen, or just want to learn more, join this great group! Register here.
