I recently found my original spirometer tests. The first was July of 2004 showing 53%
The latest directly before my flare up and hospital stay and when they put me on o2 from what I can see and I’m not positive I’m reading it correctly is FEV1 27% but notes it can be treated orally with meds.
Now I read. One of the my danger zones is I’m in deep trouble and kiss my butt goodbye. The tests were done at Gainesville Florida VA medical center. I was just there last month and the tech said , see ya in a year Tom. I’m scared because I have plans to buy a small cottage near my Son and grandson for summers.
I feel ok. I just sanded and painted my truck. I’m exercising (should increase it) I have invested in two Inogens and a small stationary unit from Amazon that works surprisingly well for $350. I also have a heavier unit supplied by the VA.
I’m 72, don’t smoke anymore. 4 years. I eat fairly healthy. Anxiety and fear are my biggest enemies. I haven’t gone out in public except when driving.
My o2 with help is 98. Without oxygen it will drop to mid to upper 80’s after a few minutes. I know this sounds much like my question from yesterday. I’m concerned about the 27% if I’m reading correctly. Lung volumes showed within normal limits.
