COPD Foundation Leadership Applaud CVS Health for Quitting Tobacco
September 08, 2014 |
The COPD Foundation congratulates CVS Health for ceasing its sale of tobacco products at its 7,700 retail locations nationwide. John Walsh, president of the COPD Foundation, and Byron Thomashow, MD, chair of COPD Foundation’s board of directors, called this policy “an important milestone.” The foundation’s leadership along with members in the COPD community, applaud CVS for making the definitive statement that the sale of tobacco is inconsistent with the mission of health-related retailers and pharmacies.
The COPD Foundation expresses its gratitude to CVS for its commitment to health. We hope this transformational policy change will set a positive example for other major drugstores.
