McLaren Flint Program Chosen to Host COPD Foundation Workshops

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 2, 2013 McLaren Flint’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is honored to be chosen as a COPD Foundation partner to host one of only five community education workshops across the country this year. The workshop is being held on Saturday, September 28 and includes a morning session geared toward healthcare professionals and an afternoon session for COPD patients and their caregivers.
The morning session begins at 8:00 a.m. and is an opportunity for area healthcare professionals to attain continuing education credits. This session will feature speakers from the COPD Foundation as well as physicians from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. The program is being held at McLaren’s new Hospitality House located at 3170 Beecher Rd., Flint. The program cost is $35 and pre-registration is required
The afternoon session begins at 11:00 a.m. and is an opportunity for area COPD patients and their caregivers to learn better ways to manage their chronic lung disease. The program provides a positive venue for social interaction, sound medical education and inspirational speakers. Presenters include experts from the COPD Foundation and a physician from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. This event will also offer exhibitors and pulmonary function screenings, as well as testing for Alpha 1, a genetic form of COPD. This program is being held on the lower level of the McLaren Medical Education located at G-3230 Beecher Rd., Flint. The cost is $10 per person and pre-registration is required.
