Hello everyone I am new here and joining because my husband 63 was diagnosed with moderate COPD last year yet he is still smoking about half a pack a day. It breaks my heart to watch but I know how hard quitting is after 45 years.I am looking for kind realistic advice from people who have been on either side of this
What actually helps (or helped you) when a loved one is trying to encourage you to quit without it feeling like nagging?Besides the obvious he has to want it himself are there small harm-reduction things we can do around the house right now better ventilation, air purifiers, smoking outside only etc?I just want to support him without driving him away or making him feel worse than he already does.
Any gentle suggestions or personal stories would mean a lot. Thank you!
