Prior to me going on new medications, my Doctor gives me alternatives other than just writing a prescription to get me out of the office. The conversations I've had with my Pharmacists I've worked with is, Doctors need to be re-educated on medications, for instance we will get scripts from the same physician and he or she will have everyone on the same prescription and strength? Or the worst is sending a patient in for a "prescription only" medication and telling them you can purchase it over the counter. Very frustrating!

Anyone here tried Trelegy and not done well with it?  It has an extra component than bevespi that I was on and done very well with.  Sorry Bill66, I know it's not agreeing with you!
I'm nervous about trying Trelegy since one of the meds is also in Advair that didn't agree with me at all when I tried it years ago. If it doesn't help, I'll go back to the bevespi but I won't know if it'll help until I try it!

  • Jean IA State CaptainMany people have done very well with Trelegy. It's got a LAMA, LABA and ICS all in one. Since you don't know which of the two ingredients in Advair you reacted badly to, you'll just have to try it to see if it works. The inhaled steroid is what's being added to what's already in the bevespi.

Das23, don't be surprised if you doc is reluctant to take you off Trelegy. Reducing exacerbations is one of the things Trelegy is supposed to do. Remember it's a maintenance med and if you don't take it, you won't get the benefit. Perhaps it's the reason you haven't had an exacerbation in two years......4 years ago
  • das23You are right on again Jean. Doc says stay with Trelegy---If it ain't broke-Don't fix it----and I agree!!๐Ÿ‘4 years ago
  • MM4Yes, it is powder and my dr mentioned that as the possible trigger. But I'm not sure if that was THE trigger. And in my case, bevespi is working well, but there are times I struggle to stay where I should be due to triggers I can't control. My "bad" days have been harder to manage but I still have good days too.  We dont know if it's just natural progression of the disease or if it can be helped by the ICS.  Honestly, my gut is telling me it just is what it is and I'm about to cave and see about plunging into a POC purchase to have on hand as needed. But if trelegy does the trick instead, I can buy myself a little more time. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Part of me is thinking my lungs have been doing this for 46 years now and they're just tired of all that extra work. ๐Ÿ˜œ4 years ago

The Bevespi Aerosphere is causing a different type of chest discomfort, I normally have chest tightness from the combination of emphysema and bronchitis between my shoulder blades, neck and middle of my back and of course my chest its constant but relatively mild. I'm not palpitating but my heart is sort of pounding, like albuterol pounding so I'm going to give it one more day and then I have a wellness check on Wednesday. Kind of crazy how things can go downhill so quickly. Keep on keepin on

Off to my daughter's house for the week, and I'm anxious about being away from my comfort zone at home. My daughter's on a cruise, my son is painting our house.,.,. works out good, someone to keep an eye on my 18 year grandson, with only the note I can't stay in the paint fumes. That is I'm not watching him!!!

Kleeโ€‹. I have alot of trouble breathing on a windy day. I try to stay indoors as much as possible. I also have great difficulty with the perfume and baby powder that so many women wear. Those are my two biggest triggers. I have severe uncontrollable eosinophilic asthma, as well as COPD.  I wear an RZ mask whenever I go out in public. I understand what you mean about the perfume sitting in your lungs....it happens to me. Even my shopping bags smell like perfume when I bring them home. I wish people would not load up on fragrance. ๐Ÿ˜ช
I wish you well, and I hope you have an easy breathing day today! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Please the bestest thing ya'ens can do for ya'ens self is stay off GOGGLE it is what I call the Deep Dark Rabbit Hole and it will take control of ya'ens life not in a good way , and makes ya'ens lose so much time that ya'ens could be spendin with ya'ens family and friends.  Everthin ya'ens need ta know is right here at ya'ens fingertips.  At the top of the page under the menu tab click learn more and there's everthin ya'ens need ta know and it's the right information not the stuff that's gonna tell ya'ens that ya'ens only have 3 years ta live.  I made that mistake and went 2 years believin what I had read had no hope or faith.  Please search deep in ya'ens self and restore Faith and Hope and stay here with us and no more GOGGLEIN . Now ya'ens take care and ya'ens have found the place tgat will change ya'ens life and also will restore the light in ya'ens life .

Well today I finally figured out how to get in here with you all. I was diagnosed in 2012 with copd and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, husband of 16 years left for another women after that. Went thru chemo 2 years now cancer free, but now at end stage copd. Iโ€™m pretty miserable, canโ€™t do much and Iโ€™m so tired of a runny nose and mucus I could scream.
