2. Alpha-1 Association: A not-for-profit organization that offers support, education and advocacy for individuals with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

Specializes in the treatment of patients with respiratory, immune and other related diseases, and for groundbreaking medical research. 25. National Family Caregivers Association: Educates, supports, empowers and speaks up for caregivers. Also offers caregiving resources.
26. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute: Information and research related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung and blood diseases, and sleep disorders for patients, the public, health professionals and researchers.
27. National Institutes of Health: A division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The NIH is the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research, helping to lead the way toward important medical discoveries that improve people’s health and save lives. NIH scientists investigate ways to prevent disease as well as the causes, treatments and even cures for common and rare diseases.
