Senators Lincoln and Crapo send “Dear Colleague” Letter in Support of $1M COPD Program at CDC
April 7, 2009
WASHINGTON—Senators Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) and Mike Crapo (R-ID), both Co-Chairs of the COPD Congressional Caucus, have sent a letter to their Colleagues in the US Senate to request their support for $1 million to be allocated in the Fiscal Year 2010 budget for a national COPD prevention program at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Currently, there is no such program at the CDC. In the letter, Senators Lincoln and Crapo note that millions of constituents (approximately 10-12 million) are undiagnosed, and urge their fellow Congressmen to support the letter.
